The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations & Rural Development is part of the BC Public Service & is responsible for land & resource management in BC. We ensure the sustainable management of forests, wildlife, water & other land-based resources & work with Indigenous & rural communities to strengthen & diversify economies.

The Regional Hydrogeologist functions as the primary regional ground water protection expert. This position is responsible for providing professional advisory services as a specialist in hydrogeology to ministry staff, consultants, stakeholders, and the general public. In this role you will also provide groundwater expertise in the development of water management plans, well protection plans and drinking water protection plans, and to other agencies involved in the management of water protection and quality. The Regional Hydrogeologist designs and supervises local high priority ground water quantity and ambient quality monitoring programs through the Observation Well Network and Ambient Groundwater Quality Monitoring Network.
