Webinar: Geochemical assessment of the contamination risk of water supply wells
Highlights:
The isotopic and geochemical composition of groundwater was defined over a 10,000 km2 area in the Quebec Appalachians
Groundwater types showing evidence of anthropic impact provided indications of on-going groundwater quality degradation
The geochemical composition and residence time of groundwater was used to assess the contamination risk of 15 water supply wells
A workflow was developed to assess vulnerability and risk of contamination, including the context of supply wells
The approach is simple to implement and can identify supply wells for which active management of the WHPA is needed
14th Joint IAH-CNC/CGS Groundwater Conference
In 2021, IAH-CNC will join up with the Canadian Geotechnical Society for the 14th time to run a joint Groundwater Conference. Full details are available on the conference website https://www.geoniagara2021.ca/. The call for abstracts is now open - the submission deadline is January 15, 2021!
