Description:
The Hydrotechnical Engineer provides technical guidance for all phases of Emergency Management British Columbia’s mitigation and funding programs and applies professional advisory expertise regarding disaster risk reduction, including risk assessments, hazard modelling and risk mapping, mitigation planning, and structural/natural/nonstructural mitigation measures. Activities primarily focus on flood hazards (including coastal, riverine, steep creek and urban settings), but also provide general support for risk reduction from all natural hazards (including geohazards, avalanche, seismic, wildfire).
