The Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Hydrogeology was awarded in 2021 to Cécile Coulon of Université Laval. Cécile’s PhD research focuses on modelling seawater intrusion in coastal aquifers (and islands). Her approach has been implemented for several islands in the Magdalen Islands archipelago, which has allowed local water resources managers to better locate and quantify freshwater resources. Cécile also contributes to the groundwater community as the Communications Officer for the Canadian Early Career Hydrogeologists' Network of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH-ECHN Canada).
